Hydrogen Cars

Japanese car manufacturer Honda has begun the first commercial production of a zero-emission, hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicle.

The four-seater, called FCX Clarity, runs on hydrogen and electricity, emitting only water vapour.

Honda claims the vehicle offers three times better fuel efficiency than a traditional, petrol-powered car.

Honda plans to produce 200 of the cars, which are initially available only to lease, over the next three years.

One of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of wider adoption of fuel-cell vehicles is the lack of hydrogen fuelling stations.

So yesterday on the way to pick someone up at the airport I got in a horrid traffic jam.

All the sudden I hear shouting to my left and there were two guys trying to get my attention. One was holding a digital camera.

So I roll down my window and the guy with the camera says something like, "I can't believe you have a Liverpool sticker. I FUCKING LOVE GERRARD!!!"

So we drive as slow as everyone else, about 5mph, and he attempts to take a photo. He was so excited, lol.

This was a first for me, a reaction to my LFC sticker.

It made me smile, even if it took 20 minutes to drive 5 miles in 90F+ heat.
